GENERAL TIPS
CLEANING
Use a non-abrasive cleanser and a soft bristle brush or sponge to clean the boat. Follow the manufacturer's precautions on which types of plastics the cleaner is suited for. Most solvents can be used on stubborn stains without harming the boat. Generally, wash with the same tools and cleaner as you would your car.
DRAINING
All plastic boats will collect some water inside the hulls. The drain plug is usually located in the center of the bow, just under the trim lip. Remove plug and stand boat upright to drain. Be sure to remove any batteries or loose items and secure canopy before standing boat up. Proper storage when not in use will minimize the amount of water buildup inside the hulls.
STORAGE
We recommend that you remove the boat from the water when not in use and store under shelter. Pedalboats can be stored standing upright with the bow down leaning against the side of building or large sturdy tree. Be sure to secure boat against falling and wind hazards. lf leaned against a tree, place a protective pad between the boat and the tree to prevent rub damage.
TRANSPORTING
Preferably load the unit with back of boat to front of vehicle to avoid the wind lifting and possibly damaging hatch lids. Secure with tape other means as necessary. If your boat has adjustable seat backs, either remove them or secure them so that they won't blow out.
LAUNCHING
When launching your boat from the bank, take care not to push backwards unless the rudder is free of the bottom and any obstructions. Damage to the rudder and steering system can result from forcing the boat backward before the rudder is clear of obstructions.
All Contour Models - Be sure rudder is pointed toward back of boat.
Lower the motor by pushing the center of the spring forward or backward, causing it to fold in half before engaging the motor. Be sure the water is deep enough that the motor will not hit bottom. Set the forward/reverse and speed* switches as desired. Raise the motor before beaching the boat by pulling up on the handle until the spring catches. Please refer to your owners manual for further instructions.
*Note: The speed selector switch should click into position and may have an unmarked “off” position.
DO NOT OPERATE THE MOTOR IN THE UP POSITION AS DAMAGE COULD OCCUR!
DO NOT USE BATTERY CHARGER AROUND WATER!
